Providing safe and secure spaces will include building a new entrance for CTE students at the Harrold campus, creating secure vestibule entrances at both campuses, and renovating classroom spaces and shops to improve safety and security.

Community members in the 16 school districts of DCMO BOCES will have an opportunity to vote on the project on February 3, 2026. Learn more at www.dcmoboces.com – click on the Capital Building Project link, found in the top right corner of every page.

Recently, Early Childhood Education students from Pole and Harrold campuses and New Vision Education students participated in a hands-on “Playful Learning” workshop led by Christine Newell, DCMO BOCES Coordinator of Staff and Curriculum Development. This learning approach leverages the natural inclination of children to learn through play, exploration and discovery, and involves creating an engaging learning environment that promotes active participation, creativity, and problem solving. Students were able to learn the importance of incorporating playful learning into teaching practice to help enhance student engagement, foster a positive learning experience, and promote deeper understanding of complex concepts. The students actively engaged in an exploration of bees in a playful learning environment and learned how to design and facilitate play learning activities that align with the standards and developmentally appropriate practices.
