Students at the DCMO BOCES Alan D. Pole Campus recently participated in a “Random Acts of Kindness” activity organized by teacher Maggie Alexander. The activity focused on discussing and identifying ways to be kind to others. Paper hearts were distributed to classrooms, and teachers guided conversations with students, who shared their responses in multiple ways, including writing independently, receiving staff assistance, or using communication devices. Completed hearts were added to a Kindness Tree, creating a visual display of student participation and ideas related to kindness. It was an inspiring activity!

It’s Super Bowl time, and the 2 therapy dogs at DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus got in the spirit of things with their own Puppy Bowl on Friday. Helti and Scout had a grand time, zooming around the gym and playing a little football, puppy-style. Thanks to their handlers Mary Greene and Emily Whipple for arranging this fun “sports” event!

The proposed DCMO BOCES Capital Building Project focuses on these “Core Four” principles: providing a safe and secure space for students; building in the flexibility to react to changing needs in the future; expanding opportunities for students, and providing responsible stewardship to our facilities.

Responsible stewardship includes ensuring the long-term viability of our facilities: addressing infrastructure for the buildings and the grounds - building envelopes, hardscape, roofs on buildings, boiler work at the Pole Campus, HVAC, plumbing, etc.

It also means focusing on financial stability: the project’s financial plan ensures consistency in BOCES capital expenditures for local districts over time, with new debt only added after old debt is retired.

Community members in the 16 school districts of DCMO BOCES will have an opportunity to vote on the project on February 3, 2026. Learn more at www.dcmoboces.com – click on the Capital Building Project link, found in the top right corner of every page.

Renewal 2027: Capital Building Project - Responsible Stewardship
Scout is Harrold Campus's newest therapy dog, and she's been busy making friends and spreading joy throughout the school, becoming a familiar, friendly face. As part of "Scout's Crew of Character," Scout is helping students learn important values. This month, the focus was on generosity. With her calm presence and big heart, she's showing students how kindness, empathy, and giving to others can make a powerful difference.

The proposed DCMO BOCES Capital Building Project focuses on these “Core Four” principles: providing a safe and secure space for students; building in the flexibility to react to changing needs in the future; expanding opportunities for students, and providing responsible stewardship to our facilities.

The project will expand opportunities for students in a number of ways, including enlarging CTE spaces to accommodate growing programs and new technologies needed for student learning, repurposing non-instructional space for instructional use, creating specialized learning hubs where a variety of students can access equipment for learning, and expanding specialized programming for students to help meet the needs of our component districts, through the creation of additional learning spaces at our existing campuses and the purchase of the Masonville School.

Community members in the 16 school districts of DCMO BOCES will have an opportunity to vote on the project on February 3, 2026. Learn more about the project here.

The project will build in flexibility by remodeling educational spaces and creating shared resource hubs, adjusting and reconfiguring CTE shop spaces, and creating more flexible and adaptable spaces, including large group meeting spaces.
