Educators from Sidney CSD, Hancock CSD and Sherburne-Earlville CSD attended a Science Investigations (Grades 6, 7, 8) professional learning workshop at the DCMO BOCES Support Services Center in Norwich today. The investigations are hands-on laboratory experiences that prepare students for the written Elementary- and Intermediate-level Science Tests measuring the NYS P-12 Science Learning Standards that are scheduled to be first administered in Grades 5 and 8 in Spring 2024. Betsy Hartnett, Assistant Director of Instructional Technology & School Library System presented today’s investigations, part of the many professional learning opportunities available to component school districts through DCMO BOCES Instructional Support Services.

Visual Communications students at the Harrold Campus recently participated in a design competition for the 62nd Annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta, sponsored by the Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce. They were tasked with creating a t-shirt and pin design for this year's regatta. The winning t-shirt design was created by Makayla Nelson, a student from Bainbridge-Guilford. The winning pin design selected by the committee was created by Violet Jones, also a student from Bainbridge-Guilford. Congratulations to both of these students on their winning designs! A number of area school facilities managers and health & safety personnel attended Inspector Refresher and Management Planner Refresher asbestos abatement training Wednesday at the DCMO BOCES Support Services Center in Norwich. Today’s training was led by Alison Bensley, DCMO BOCES Assistant Health & Safety Coordinator, assisted by other members of the Health & Safety team. DCMO BOCES is a New York State Department of Health accredited asbestos safety training provider, and schedules a full range of state-mandated asbestos abatement training classes.
