(Afton, NY) On Monday, June 29th, 112 educators, partners, and friends gathered at the Afton Golf Course for a day of celebration and camaraderie. This marked the 20th year of the Lew Ford Memorial Golf Outing, with a record 28 foursomes hitting the links at 9:30 that beautiful morning for a round of golf. Congratulations to this year’s champions, “Team White” from the DCMO BOCES Harrold Campus – Matt White, Eric Buckley, Tim Smith, and Shane Dirig.
Lew Ford served DCMO BOCES as the Assistant Health & Safety Coordinator from 1998 until his untimely death in 2016. Lew had a passion for student safety and for golf. He envisioned an opportunity for educators to come together after the end of the school year, to celebrate and to raise funds for students. Since 2022, it has raised over $28,500; this year’s event raised over $8,300, with the proceeds being shared between two programs supporting students at DCMO: the Backpack Program and Skills USA.
