In partnership with Chobani, Cornell Workforce Development for Food and Dairy Processors is sponsoring a “Dairy Processing Bootcamp” in South Edmeston later this month. This 2-1/2 day program is being held at the South Edmeston Community Church from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm October 28 and 29, and from 9:00 am – 12 noon on October 30 (participants will need to attend all three days). The bootcamp is designed to give people the foundational skills they need to get started at Chobani and to help them feel confident as they take their first steps toward employment. Throughout the bootcamp, participants will also have plenty of chances to connect directly with Chobani HR and operations staff, so it’s a great opportunity to build relationships and ask questions in a supportive environment.

Several seats have been reserved for BOCES students and alumni over the age of 18 who strongly desire to work for Chobani. Participants will learn about the company's manufacturing practices and explore job opportunities, and will receive a certificate of completion for the bootcamp itself. If a participant is especially interested in working at Chobani and wants to continue upskilling, or if they are hired there, they can also receive free access to Cornell University’s Dairy Science and Sanitation course. This course is normally around $600 and is part of the full Dairy Processing Certificate Program.

This is an excellent opportunity for DCMO BOCES students and alumni who wish to live and work in the area. For more details, email Hannah Moyal, Cornell University Workforce Specialist, at hb466@cornell.edu. The registration deadline is October 14.
