DCMO BOCES will be
holding the 2018 Annual Spring Open House on May 14th at the Harrold Campus and
on May 15th at the Chenango Campus. The evening’s highlight is the senior project student showcase. Each campus features multiple exhibit spaces with special opportunities for student-visitor interactions. Instructors turn the classrooms into learning experience displays appropriate for families and friends to learn about the 14 career and technical education programs available. Jennifer Waite, Director of Career & Technical Education, explained the purpose of the event, “Our students take great pride preparing their projects for Open House and community participation provides an excellent challenge for students to develop a strong display, communicate effectively, and improve presentation skills.”
DCMO BOCES provides Career & Training Educational (CTE) opportunities for 16 component schools in Delaware, Chenango, Madison and Otsego Counties from the Harrold Campus located in Sidney Center and the Chenango Campus located in Norwich. Employers, business owners, and community leaders are encouraged to participate. “ This is our best vehicle to share information about the exciting programs we deliver and our efforts to prepare the workforce of the future,” said Waite. The Open House event begins at 5:00 pm and runs until approximately 7:30 pm. Other amenities include sale of chicken bar-b-q, car show, heavy equipment display, and building tours.
