DCMO BOCES is joining the National CTE Month Celebration

Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country. CTE prepares secondary, postsecondary, and adult students with technical, academic, and employability skills for success in the workplace and in further education.

At the secondary level, CTE is delivered through Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), which provide shared CTE programs and services to school districts within the state and deliver CTE instructional programs at area career centers.

DCMO BOCES serves hundreds of students from 16 component schools located in Delaware, Chenango, Madison, and the Otsego region.  Among the 14 CTE programs offered to students are, Automotive Collision, Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Carpentry & Building Construction, Computer Repair & Networking, Conservation & Heavy Equipment Technology, Cosmetology & Barbering, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Nurse Assisting, Security & Law Enforcement, Visual Communications, and Welding Technology.

A series of activities are planned to celebrate CTE Month, be sure to check out our website and social media as we showcase and celebrate Career and Technical Education.

The 2023 celebration theme is: This is my classroom!  Through images, videos and conversations, we will share the student experience with non-traditional academic classrooms with tools, resources, and hands-on learning.
