DCMO BOCES anniversary commemorative float was awarded first place at the Chenango County Fair Firemen’s Parade. This was the first year that the award honored the memory of David C.Law, a long-term supporter of the Chenango County Agricultural Society, where he served for many years as a board member.
The float, crafted by students and staff from multiple trade programs at DCMO BOCES, featured a revolving welded sculpture with the BOCES logo image. The parade entry showcased photos of multiple DCMO BOCES trade programs. The electronic boards mounted on the float displayed historical images and timelines sharing the story of BOCES contributions to the community for the past 50 years. DCMO BOCES spokesperson Martha Ryan commented, “We are so proud to take this award back to our students and staff. The trophy recognizes their hard work, creativity and passion. As recipients of the first David Law award, we are honored.”
