At approximately 11:21 AM the BOCES Harrold Campus went on lockdown to investigate a report from a staff member that a student may have a potential weapon. At the same time a 911 call was placed. Deputies and Troopers arrived on campus by 11:34 AM.
An investigation in suit followed which yielded no weapon and confirmed that there was never a threat to students or staff. The staff and administration at the Harrold Campus responded swiftly and directly to the situation which resulted in maintaining the situation until law enforcement arrived. Law enforcement and our staff collaborated to bring the situation to a successful conclusion.
Superintendent Perry Dewey would like to thank both the law enforcement and our staff for keeping our children safe and responding professionally to the situation.
Student safety is a priority for all of us who work in education. DCMO BOCES’ persistent practice of safety drills ensured a positive outcome to today’s event.
