Drumm Inducted to DCMO BOCES Alumni Hall of Fame
Arnold Drumm, Owner, and Operator of Palmer’s Repair Shop in Walton New York is a new member of the DCMO BOCES Alumni Hall of Fame. The program honors Career & Technical Education graduates since 1967 who have obtained a leadership position in the occupational field in which they studied. According to Jennifer Waite, Director of Career & Technical Education, Drumm is an inspiration to our students to expand the skills learned to own a small business.
Drumm is a graduate from the 1983 Auto Technology program known for his “never-give-up” approach according to his nominator Lawrence Thomas, Interim Superintendent at Walton Central School. “His strong work ethic, attention to customer service, and vision for his future allowed him in February of 1999 to officially purchase Palmer’s Repair Shop which has become a mainstay of vehicle maintenance and a core small business for people in the Walton area,” said Thomas.
Waite celebrated Drumm’s nomination by saying, “He exemplifies graduate’s success not only for his ambitious career advancement but also for his contributions to community, family, and education.” Lawrence added, “Drumm's active involvement with Cub Scouts and 4-H as well as his role as a Board Member for the Walton Central School District complements his commitment to his wife Betsy, and daughters Aislynn and Kailynn.”
