On November 13, 2017 DCMO BOCES Chenango Campus participated in Perry Brown Intermediate Schools Career Day. Third graders heard a presentation from Conservation instructor Kyle Boeltz. Students were excited to learn that maple syrup is made at BOCES and that our CTE students have the opportunity to use big equipment. A safety gear demonstration stressed the importance of wearing a protective helmet, gloves, and chaps.
Fourth graders viewed a presentation from our Chef Chris from our Culinary program. Seniors Gabe Warren and Sean Duke shared some of the recipes that they have enjoyed making and how the program has positively impacted them. The students enjoyed viewing photos of senior projects from 2017!
The fifth graders met with Cosmetology teacher Christina McCall and seniors, Kylie
Quackenbush (Cosmetology) and Esteban Rojas (Barbering). Hands on demonstrations included learning how
to french braid and identifying the tools used to barber. Students were left with positive words of encouragement to
do their best academically and maintain good attendance.
