Aviation Careers Exploration Event Serves Over 250 Students

Students in both the DCMO and the ONC BOCES region had an opportunity to learn about career destinations in the aviation field.  The Aviation Career Exploration Day was held at the Lt. Warren Eaton Airport in Norwich on June 8th in conjunction with the Annual Airport Days event hosted by the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA).   The event, sponsored by GE Aviation, provided opportunities for 289 middle and high school to learn about careers connected to the aviation field such as aircraft design and engineering, mechanics, and maintenance.  Presenters from aviation schools, Drones businesses, and manufacturing also shared local job opportunities for our students. GE Aviation Norwich Lead, Dan Ketchum commented, “GE Aviation is proud to sponsor and support an event like this in our community.  Our industry has seen incredible growth over the past few years, and it is expected to continue.”
