Overview
Why it was started:
- Schools looking for alternate management for their food program
- Looking for a way to reduce continued yearly deficit
- Wanted to keep staff as district employees
District Goals
- Reverse the yearly deficit
- Improve the quality of the food and service
- Improve staff relations with faculty and staff
Responsibilities of the School Lunch Manager
- All required filing of annual renewal and state forms
- Free and Reduced applications
- Required monthly reporting of reimbursement forms
- Supervision of staff including:
Establishing hours
Assigning Duties
Training
All personnel issues
Evaluations
- Ordering of food, beverages and equipment
- Menu for lunch and breakfast
- Developing new programs
- Overall supervision of the program
- Work with the business manager to monitor the budget
- Assist auditors during the annual audit
- Serve as part of the Administrative Council
