Option I - Bus Driver Training

An in-service training program offered at both the beginning and advanced levels to meet the State Education Department's regulations for training of bus drivers.

Option II - Physical Performance Testing

A testing service designed to assist districts in maintaining compliance with the State Education Department's regulation 156.3 regarding physical standards for school bus drivers. A qualified School Bus Driver Instructor (SBDI) will administer the physical performance test to all new and existing school bus drivers and provide documentation necessary for compliance.

Option III - 19A and Physical Performance Testing

A testing service designed to assist districts in maintaining compliance with both the Department of Motor Vehicle (19A) and the State Education Department's regulation (156.3) governing school bus drivers. A qualified 19A examiner and School Bus Driver Instructor (SBDI) will administer the annual defensive driving review, biennial oral/written test and defensive driving review under 19A and the physical performance test required under 156.3. Included with these tests will be the proper documentation necessary to maintain compliance.
