| Minus any restrictions in the license or documentation accompanying the program, in general, programs that are used to create templates or presentations, such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel, do not require prior permission of the producer of the creation software for marketing the templates. However, it is a legal requirement that in advertising the sale of the templates, that the purchaser must own a copy of the appropriate software that will enable them to use the templates created. However, if the desire was to sell both the template and the creation software, then a licensing agreement would need to be established with the producing company. |
