Media Festival

 

Statement of Philosophy

  1. Student expression through visual media is a desirable component of the child's education.
  2. Visual media offer an opportunity for students to be creative and to express their vision of the world with others.
  3. A regional media festival can provide local students an opportunity to share their work and ideas with a wider group of their peers.
  4. The media festival can stimulate educators to examine the educational value and potential of student media productions.

Student Media Festival Goals

  1. To make instruction available in visual media production methods to the educators and students of the DCMO BOCES region.
  2. To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas as they pertain to student visual media expression among students, educators and the community.
  3. To make the community aware of the value of visual expression and student creativity.
  4. To promote serious interest in encouraging students to learn how to communicate through visual media.
