Overview

Why it was started:

  • Schools looking for alternate management for their food program
  • Looking for a way to reduce continued yearly deficit
  • Wanted to keep staff as district employees

District Goals

  • Reverse the yearly deficit
  • Improve the quality of the food and service
  • Improve staff relations with faculty and staff

Responsibilities of the School Lunch Manager

  • All required filing of annual renewal and state forms
  • Free and Reduced applications
  • Required monthly reporting of reimbursement forms
  • Supervision of staff including:
    • Establishing hours
    • Assigning Duties
    • Training
    • All personnel issue
    • Evaluations
  • Ordering of food, beverages and equipment
  • Menu for lunch and breakfast
  • Developing new programs
  • Overall supervision of the program
  • Work with the business manager to monitor the budget
  • Assist auditors during the annual audit
  • Serve as part of the Administrative Council
